what do you think of this for a 1st b.d. party instead of ice cream?
okay so my son's 1st b.d. is thursday july 2nd, we are doing his b.d. party that day with the family's only as both families are fighting amongst themselves, so i made him a little cake to play in, and we put him in his 1st b.d. outfit, put him on a table cloth in the back yard and let him have at it. we took tons of pictures to give to everyone,
the last sat in june we are having him a b.d. party, just cake & ice cream for the kids from church & mommy & class at 3 p so i'm wondering, as several moms have asked me if i'm having ice cream and said they would prefer we didn't because it is hot, outside and will be messy on the kids, so i was thinking instead of having ice cream giving out the little certificates for a free ice cream cone from dairy queen so the parents can get it whenever it is convenient for them. what do you think?
would you like that better, we are having chips and dip, a few snacks and such so it's not like they will miss it, and cake. what do you think of this idea? and best of all, the dq where i live has these books where you pay 10.00 and get 8 free ice cream cones but the money goes to the st Jude's children's hospital, which made me start thinking maybe that is a better idea than having ice cream at the park.
any thoughts on this?
i know, i agree i mean kids are suppose to get dirty/messy, but 3 moms were adament about not letting their kids eat ice cream and that's 7 kids total, and i don't want the others eating it and those kids not being able to, i don't think that is fair at all
i already bought 5 containers of handi wipes just for his party too, cause i knew the kids would get messy and sticky. they are kids it happens.
i have these little smocks left over from my daughter's 8th b.d. party last year, what a mess it was, we painted, it was a paint party outside, the grass, the house everything got paint on it, but the kids had fun, and got some of the paint where it was meant to be, but i got them http://www.classy-kid.com/artsandcrafts/smockbibbig.jpg smocks like these so their clothes weren't ruined & had their moms dress them in old clothes, i had extra large tee's for them too just incase. that was fun, i love seeing kids messy it means they are having fun,
i could use these for the kids and see if the moms will go along with it
